Manchester City Close Gap on Arsenal After Draw with Liverpool
Aguero Rescues Point for City
Manchester City closed to within one point of Premier League leaders Arsenal with a hard-fought draw against Liverpool on Sunday. Sergio Aguero's second-half goal canceled out Raheem Sterling's opener for the visitors, leaving City nine points adrift of the Gunners at the top of the table.
City's Late Surge
Liverpool took the lead in the 20th minute when Sterling tapped in from close range. City dominated possession for much of the game but struggled to create clear-cut chances. However, they finally found the breakthrough in the 72nd minute when Aguero headed home Kevin De Bruyne's cross.
City pushed for a winner in the closing stages but could not find a way past Liverpool's resolute defense. The draw leaves City in second place, one point behind Arsenal and one point ahead of Manchester United in third.
